The trip for 18 students from Vincennes, France to Vincennes, Indiana is coming to an end soon. The students—from a private school in the Paris suburbs– have been visiting with the sister-city counterparts.
Vincennes Lincoln High School’s Bailey Hacker-Powell has headed the French student tours for many years. She gives the top objective for the students’ cultural learning. Hacker-Powell also says over the years, the exchange has gone both ways—with some L-H-S students also winging their way to France.
This year’s visit is part of the two communities’ 90th anniversary of being sister cities. Earlier this week, Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum hosted the mayor of Vincennes, France as part of an agreement renewal between the two cities.
