The Knox County Council heard from the public last night, as they started official discussion toward a possible wheel tax surcharge for the County.
Knox County Council president Mike Morris explains the session is targeted toward getting that public input. That is due to the State of Indiana tying preferred Community Crossings Matching Grant funding to a municipality or county’s wheel tax. Morris says he has to weigh an extra tax to the benefits it could bring.
More discussion of the issue is expected in the weeks and months to come. Morris also promised no formal decision on the issue in the near future.
