The Vincennes City Council has approved, on first reading, a rezoning of a parcel of land on Bierhaus Boulevard. The rezoning would be to C-3 commercial zoning; it is part of the continuing commercial development of that ground. The affected property is across the street from the Kohl’s store at Bierhaus and Hart Street Road.
Vincennes City Council president Brian Grove believes this could be a marketing push for that ground. Grove is glad to see after a couple of decades, progress is starting to show on that designed-for-retail thoroughfare.
The other high-profile action on Bierhaus Boulevard is the continued building of Bierhaus Flats. The 200-plus unit apartment complex is part of an effort to increase housing stock, to attract more out of town workers to live in Vincennes.
