Work continues toward re-placing the stones on the Lincoln Memorial Bridge in downtown Vincennes. Stone cleaning has been the latest focus of the work crews, as part of the process to get the improved stones back in place.
George Rogers Clark National Park chief ranger Joe Herron says one part that is lagging a bit is sectioning off more work space at the bridge. At this time, Herron says the stone replacement process is happening without a road closure.
The work has ended about a two-year wait where the stones were sitting near the Rendezvous grounds off Willow Street.
