Knox County Ag Numbers Released by USDA

The U-S Department of Agriculture has released its latest statistics about farming in Knox County.
The USDA information shows the county generates around 461 million dollars in ag-related sales. The U-S-D-A estimates 447 farms operated on around 99 percent of its own total land area. Even with that, farming makes up nearly 2 and half percent of the entire Knox County workforce.
Nationwide, the most common crop is grains—with double the production of the next commodity category—cattle and calves.
