It was a day and night of discussion—but no action—on proposed changes to the Knox County solar energy ordinance. A good group of people spoke for and against the ordinance as it stands during two sessions yesterday. The addressed were delivered before the Knox County Commissioners yesterday morning, and last night before the County’s Area Plan Commission.
Knox County Commissioners’ president T-J Brink says they are waiting on the County Area Plan Commission for advice before proceeding.
As for the A-P-C, they hosted over a hundred people interested in the issue. Of that group, 22 spoke, with some of them against the solar setbacks as they now stand. Also, the Commission received a 510-person petition asking for vastly increased setbacks for future solar generation stations.
For their part, the Commission decided to discuss the issue again at its session on Tuesday, January sixth.
