Vincennes Police are among those involved in increased traffic safety enforcement over this holiday season. The increased enforcement is funded by the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration—or NHTSA .
The officers will look for the normal road problems—like speeding, lack of seat belt usage, and drink driving. However, the enforcement will also look for school bus stop arm violation. Vincennes Police Chief Jon Hillenbrand says one of the main culprits is drivers just not paying attention. Hillenbrand also reminds everyone Vincennes Community School buses have a stop arm camera deterrent to keep drivers in check.
Across the area, the increased enforcement period runs from now through New Year’s Day.
