Several area countie4s and municipal areas were on the list of grant recipients from the Indiana Department of Transportation.
The top award for this round was one million dollars. Among the counties getting the top amount are Daviess County, Gibson County, and Sullivan County. Martin County got over 727-thousand dollars, with Pike County receiving just over 138-thousand dollars. Among those area missing out was Knox County.
Two municipal areas—Loogootee and Linton—also got a million dollars in grant funding. . The City of Bicknell also was funded, with over 959-thousand dollars going there. Other funded municipal areas include Princeton, with over 800-thousand dollars; Bloomfield with nearly 350-thousand dollars, and Oaktown—with over 75-thousand dollars.
Each area granted will match the state funding. The money is earmarked for road, street, and infrastructure improvements.
