The Knox County Salvation Army is seeking the community’s help in the final week of their Christmas kettle campaign. The annual bell-ringing effort is the major Salvation Army fund-raiser each year.
As part of the annual campaign, representatives from the City of Vincennes and Knox County were competing against each other last weekend. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says whenever you give in the red kettles this Christmas season, your gift is well-used. Mayor Yochum is glad to say when they City and County battled last weekend, the weather was favorable.
The kettle campaign is just one way the Knox County Salvation Army is seeking funds this season. The other is in a dedicated mail appeal to request funding for the Salvation Army for the year ahead.
