Future teachers can get up to ten-thousand dollars in college scholarships through the Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship. The program is part of the state’s initiative to recruit and retain the next generation of teachers in Indiana’s schools.
In recent years, the state has seen jumps in national education rankings, along with improvement in math skills and third grade reading proficiency. The other major improvement is requiring Indiana’s public school teachers have a minimum salary of at least 45-thousand dollars.
More information is available through the Indiana Department of Education.
