Funding Worries to Slow INDOT Work in 2026

      Fewer road and bridge projects will be undertaken in Indiana this year than previously planned.
      The Indiana Department of Transportation is canceling and postponing work due to funding issues.
      INDOT is planning to spend one-billion-dollars on the Mid-States Corridor, creating a better link between State Road 66 and Interstate 69 in southern Indiana.
      House Roads and Transportation Committee chairman Jim Pressel says he doesn’t understand spending that much money on a new road while over 300 projects have been canceled in the past year and a half.
