The Indiana Department of Transportation is re-opening State Road 61 in Winslow, following an emergency closure. The closure was due to a building collapse in downtown Winslow in November.
However, at this time, the re-opening will be a restricted flow, due to continued work on the area. The restriction will be one lane on 61 between North and Jefferson Streets. A temporary traffic signal will control the one lane of traffic between those streets. During the limited re-opening, the approaches to 61 from Center Street, Washington Street, and the east approach from Lafayette Street will be closed.
Drivers are stil urged to use extra caution in that work area in Winslow.
