The Vincennes Utility Services Board heard an update yesterday on a set of projects expected to either start or continue this year. The list was laid out yesterday by Vincennes Water Utilities general manager Kirk Bouchie.
One way the projects will be funded is by a rate increase. If one happens, it would be the first for Vincennes since 2016. Bouchie gives an expected timeline for the new rates may be unveiled and installed. At this time, as it was with the last rate raise in 2016, Bouchie notes Vincennes Utilities’ rates are among the lowest in Indiana.
Any rate increase in Vincennes must be approved by Vincennes City Council in three-reading ordinance form before they can take effect.
