A new study by moneyradar.org ranks Indiana as 30th in the nation for fraud, with over 70,000 reports, roughly 1,012 per 100,000 people, filed between late 2024 and mid-2025.
While Georgia and Florida top the list as scam hotspots, Indiana’s lower population density and fewer huge financial hubs help keep its fraud rates lower than more urbanized states.
Experts urge you to remain vigilant by monitoring accounts and ignoring unsolicited messages, regardless of their state’s ranking.
