Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita urges Hoosiers to protect themselves against robocall scams that target personal information and finances.
Key tips include:
• Don’t answer calls from unfamiliar numbers. If you do, hang up immediately without engaging or pressing buttons.
• Watch for scam signs, such as pre-recorded calls claiming to be from government agencies or requests for payment via gift cards or cryptocurrency.
• And check with your phone provider about call-blocking services to reduce robocalls.
Report robocalls or Do Not Call List violations to the Indiana Attorney General’s Office online, by calling 1-888-834-9969, or emailing donotcall@atg.in.gov.
