Sullivan County coal mine truck driver Kayla Blackford was invited to the White House recently as part of a ceremony for signing of a coal-related executive order. Blackford represented Sullivan County’s Bear Run Coal Mine at the event. She is a resident of Dugger.
Blackford joined 45th District State Representative Bruce Borders, Congressional members, coal execuitives, and President Trump for the signing.
The event was called the Clean Beautiful Coal event. Blackford was among those who spoke at the ceremony around the signing of the executive order. The order directs the Department of War to enter agreements for coal-based electricity for military use.
