The Indiana Department of Transportation is shifting its focus from winter weather work to construction season. Two Knox County based bridge projects are about to start—with work on the White River Bridge near Petersburg starting Monday. The other project will start March 10th on U-S 50 over Fort Knox Road.
INDOT spokesman Gary Bryan says they watch roads and bridges closely to determine when age requires improvement. Bryan also credits the public for their tips—especially when it comes to needed work to fill potholes.
Work also continues on other major projects—including the long-standing bridge replacement work in Gibson County. That task has been a year-round lane reduction on U-S 41 south of Princeton.
