Restoration work on the Vincennes Memorial Bridge could happen this spring. The work would place restored façade back on the bridge. Officials at the National Park Service are overseeing the work, through the nearby Gorge Rogers Clark National Park.
The dismantling of the Memorial Bridge facade happened a couple of years ago. The stones were placed on the French Commons grounds for a long while before being cleaned. Federal officials also had to find a contractor to restore the bridge; once they did, the project picked back up to full speed.
