The Vincennes Board of Works has set a special meeting April seventh to open its bids for Community Crossings Matching Grants. With the City’s match, Vincennes will use around a million dollars to work on needed streets this year.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum points to a stretch of South Sixth Street that will be a main focus of work. Mayor Yochum believes the work will be beneficial to some heavy equipment that regularly takes that road.
The remainder of the work will be on various other streets in Vincennes deemed as most in need. That list is rated by the state-mandated PASER program.
