Washington Police are investigating multiple complaints concerning checks believed to have been stolen after being mailed.
Authorities say individuals have changed the name of the person the check was made out to and in some cases increased the amount of the check.
Police say it has not yet been confirmed where the thefts are occurring.
The investigation is ongoing.
