The Veterans’ Treatment Court is open for cases in Knox Circuit Court. The court is designed to prove veteran defendants with wrap-around services for 12 months, to help them complete their programs.
The court itself is part of a problem-solving program, as requested by a recent community survey. It is a combined effort of Knox Circuit Court, the Prosecutor, the Public Defender’s office, and the Veterans’ Administration.
Indiana state officials have set a temporary license for the court to run until September, while it finishes a licensing process. Once the license is granted, the Veterans’s Court will have a three-year license.
Any honorably discharged veteran may get involved in the program. Any veteran defendants interested in more information should contact their attorney for that information.
