Two western Indiana teams helped the South sweep Saturday’s IHSAA state championships in Indianapolis.
Barr-Reeve kicked things off by winning its third state title. The Vikings defeated Triton 50-37 to take their third Class A State Championship. Barr-Reeve also won the title in 2015 and 20-21. The Vikings’ Korban Boyd was also named the winner of the Class A Trester Award. Barr-Reeve ends the season at 26-1.
In 2-A, the Parke Heritage Wolves Isaac Pickels hit a lay-iun with 10 seconds left to knock off Westview57-56. The Wolves end their season with their first ever state title, and a 27-4 record.
Also picking up state titles Saturday was Indianapolis Cathedral, 71-51 over New Haven in 3-A, and Mount Vernon of Fortvill e in 4-A, with a 62-60 won over Crown Point.
