It was a tough start for Vincennes Lincoln’s baseballers, as they lose 9-1 to Southridge at League Stadium in Huntingburg. The Alices start at 0-1 on the season with the defeat.
The Rivet Patriots fell 3-2 to the Class A Number 2 Barr-Reeve Vikings yesterday at St. Vincent Field. The Patriots led 2-1 until two fifth-inning runs from Barr-Reeve won it for them.
The Patriots were checked n one hit—a single from Hunter Bilskie. Bilskie took the loss for Rivet. The Patriots move to 1-1; they are scheduled to face Tecumseh on the road later today.
The South Knox Spartans lost at home 11-1 in five innings to North Posey last night. Seven runs in the 4th out of the Vikings opened up a close game and led to the victory.
The Spartans were checked on six hits in the game. Brody West took the loss for South Knox.
In softball, the Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices defeated the North Knox Lady Warriors 7-1. Hadley Piper won the game, allowing one run on three hits, and struck out ten.
The South Knox Lady Spartans get an 16-=6 win last night over Pike Central. Lorelai Davis hit a home run and drove in five, while Braelyn Gladish was 3-4 with a triple.
