Six walks in the first inning led to five runs, as the North Daviess Cougars defeated the Rivet Patriots, 8-3, at Saint Vincent Field.
The Patriots racked up six hits in the game, with Brody Shots and Layne Willis tallying doubles. Miles Gardiner took the loss for the 2-3 Patriots. Rivet will try to even their record at 3-3 when they face Loogootee later today.
In softball:
The Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices netted 17 hits in a 13-0 win over Princeton. Olivia Lewis and Emma Cunningham led the way with three runs batted in each. The Lady Alices have won five straight to go to 5-1 on the season.
The South Knox Lady Spartans lost 6-1 to Robinson. Braelyn Gladish was the offensive star, scoring the Lady Spartans’ only run on the hight with a homer.
In tennis:
South Knox defeated Sullivan 3-2. Winnes include Elaina Watjen at Number 2 singles, along with the two doubles teams—Halle Carmean and Emily Robinson, and Reagan Harringson and Jenna Bluebaum. The Lady Spartans start their tennis year at 2-0.
