Area Illinois State Representative Adam Niemberg is praising the Illinois House passage of his bill to protect child abuse victims during court cases. The bill extends the speedy trial process in those cases by 30 days if a judge disallows the child victim to testify by closed-circuit television.
Niemberg’s bill relates to children involved in sexual abuse, aggravated battery, or aggravated domestic battery. With House passage, the bill moves to the Illinois Senate for further consideration.
