South Knox High School will now seek another Athletic Director, following the retirement of Beth Robinson. Robinson’s letter of resignation was accepted by the South Knox School Board; it takes effect on June 30th.
Robinson is stepping away from the position to spend more time with family. The South Knox School Board will now start the process of finding her replacement.
In baseball:
Tue Sullivan Golden Arrows scored three in the last three innings to reverse a 3-2 Vincennes Rivet lead, and win 5-3 over the Patriots at St. Vincent Field.
Brody Shots led with two singles, as the Patriots were held to four hits in the game. Rivet stranded seven runners, while Sullivan left 13 on base. The Patriots move to 13-6 with the defeat.
The North Knox Warriors scored 18 runs in the fist two innings, including 12 in the second, as they defeat Shoals, 20-1. Six different Warriors had doubles in the game, with Korbin Jones striking a triple. Overall North Knox combined for 16 hits in the game. Levi Pahmeier and Kason Oxby combined to hold Shoals to three hits in the game.
In softball:
The vomcennes Lady Alices took at least a share of the SIAC title with a 9-6 win at Evansville North. L-H-S had to rally from a 6-0 deficit early by scoring 9 runs the lrest of the way to win it.
Hadley Piper led the way for L-H-S with a 2 for 4 night with 2 runs batted in. The Lady Alces are now 20-2 on the year.
In Junior High track:
South Knox took the Knox County Boys’ track meet with 103 p oints. Clark middle School was second, followed by North Knoa and Rivet.
North Knox took the girls’ meet, with 77 points, six better than Clark. South Knox was third followed by Rivet. Mauriana Moore was the star for Clark, with County titles in four events.
