David Burris, age 57, of Washington, Indiana, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was born on May 24, 1968, in Washington, Indiana, spending his life rooted in the place he called home.
David graduated from Washington High School and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and service throughout his life. He served in the United States Army, an experience that reflected his commitment to duty and his willingness to serve others. After his military service, he worked as a resident assistant at Four Rivers, where he was known for his steady presence and the care he showed to those around him.
David was a man who loved his family deeply, and that love was evident in the way he lived each day. He is survived by his son, Tyler Burris (Erik); his father, Roger Clark (Darlene); his sister, Shana Clark-Birk (Mark); his niece and nephew, Bree and Evan Birk; and his beloved dog, Butters. These family members were an important part of his life, and he treasured the time he spent with them. His family will remember him for his kindness and the affection he showed to those closest to him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet “McClain” Burris, and his dog, Sasha. Their memories remained close to his heart. Those who knew David will remember a man who valued family above all else and who found meaning in the moments shared with loved ones.
David’s life was marked by devotion, service, and love. He will be remembered for the relationships he built, the responsibilities he carried with pride, and the warmth he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
