Councils from Knox County and various municipal groups are meeting together to possibly set a uniform county tax for all citizens. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum believes if it happens, it would be an answer to the City’s loss of revenue from cuts in statewide property taxes.
Right now, the issue is in the discussion stage only. No official or unofficial language has been introduced to start the process at this point.
