The celebration of America’s 250th birthday in Vincennes, in part, will pay respects to the nation’s 200th birthday. Officials at George Rogers Clark National Park plan to unearth and open a time capsule buried 50 years ago, in 1976. G-R-C chief ranger Joe Herronis glad to have had some officials from back then to help him locate the place where the capsule is buried.
Overall, downtown Vincennes will be filled with celebrations, entertainment, and more to help celebrate the holiday. The annual Vincennes Fourth of July parade starts at six p-m, with fireworks over the Wabash River at dusk.
