Vincennes City officials have directly taken a non-profit group’s donation and turned it into needed transportation. At the Vincennes Board of Works session, much of a recent PILOT payment—or payment in lieu of taxes—directly assisted the Vincennes Animal Shelter.
The new truck replaces a worn-out model that was part of the trade in for the new vehicle. Vincennes City Council president Brian Grove says with the work that director Leah Raigen and her staff do there, they deserve it.
With the trade in of the old truck, the new vehicle cost just under 46-thousand, 500 dollars. The new vehicle will be modified for the Shelter’s use in Vincennes.
