The federal Women,. Infants and Children program—or WIC—reminds everyone they are not just for expecting and new mothers… but for new dads too. The program is designed to help expecting women all the way up to parents of children to age five.
Part of the program is helping new mothers with breastfeeding. However, WIC’s Kelsey Hager says fathers are also a big part of that. Fallon Earley is also with WIC. She reminds everyone that WIC’s benefits aren’t just for mothers—but also for single fathers.
In recent years, the WIC program has transferred its oversight from the PACE Community Action Agency to the umbrella of Good Samaritan Hospital.
