Washington Police and The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office will be cracking down on impaired driving before Labor Day.
They are teaming up with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute for the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
Officers across the state will work overtime starting today (Wednesday) and running through September 7th, looking for drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
State officials say alcohol played a role in nearly 23 percent of Indiana’s traffic deaths last year — and drugs were involved in more than 41 percent.
Remember — in Indiana, it’s illegal to drive with a blood alcohol level of point-oh-8 or higher.
