Knox County Council members are reviewing budget requests by various County departments, ahead of their annual budget hearing week. Council members have set aside the week of September 14th to 18th for 2027 budget deliberations.
Council president Mike Morris knows the Indiana Legislature’s property tax cut bill isn’t making it any easier. Morris believes one of their budget focuses should be on development as a long-term revenue strategy.
Council members are still tabulating the overall funding they will have for the 2027 budget. They are working on that number with their fiscal consultant Reedy Financial.
