Even though school has been in session just under a month, the Vincennes Police Department is still monitoring school safety each morning and afternoon. V-P-D Chief Jon Hillenbrand says their focus now is getting kids to and from school, and home safely. However, Hillenbrand says part of the emphasis is on students using safety precautions—especially on various types of bikes.
Drivers across Knox County are also reminded to stop for all extended school bus stop arms. Under all circumstances, drivers in both directions are to stop whenever a bus has its stop arm extended.
