1972 Lincoln High School grad, and former NFL lineman, David Carter will be placed in the Indiana Football Hall of Fame on Homecoming Friday, September 25th. A plaque award will happen between the first and second quarters of that evening’s Vincennes Lincoln’s Homecoming game. Prior to that, Carter will be honored in a ceremony that Friday afternoon at the Riverfront Pavilion.
Carter played for the 9-1 Alices in the 1971 season. He later attended Western Kentucky University, was drafted in the sixth round by the then-Houston Oilers, and played nine seasons with the Oilers, and New Orleans Saints. Earlier, Carter was enshrined in the Kentucky Pro Sports Hall of Fame, and the Greater Evansville Sports Hall of Fame.
The September 25th ceremony to honor Carter is open to all wishing to attend.
