Kathryn Ann Presswood, age 70, of Oakland City, Indiana, passed away on September 20, 2026. She was born on March 14, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion, and love.
Kathryn graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, Missouri, and later attended Vincennes University. She went on to work as a certified nursing assistant, where her caring nature and steady compassion were evident in the way she served others. She approached her work with patience and dignity, and those who knew her appreciated the warmth she brought to every setting.
On December 20, 1979, she married the love of her life, Emory M. Presswood Jr. Together they shared many years of marriage and built a life centered on love, family, and faith. Kathryn was a member of The Church of Latter-day Saints, and her beliefs were an important part of the way she lived each day.
Kathryn was a sweet and giving person who was always a good friend. She loved her family deeply and treasured time with those closest to her. She especially loved her cat, Mickey, and found joy in the simple comforts of home. She enjoyed crocheting, watching television, especially crime shows, and following wrestling. Her interests reflected her personality, which was warm and full of genuine care for others.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Brad Schreeman, Scott Schreeman, and David Mayberry; her step-grandchildren; her sister, Connie Noeth (Russell Sr.); her nieces, Cassie Risch (Jensen), and Lisa Hill (Darrin); and her great-nieces and nephews, Gabriella Risch, Eli Risch, Willow Risch, Natalie Hill, and Hannah Noeth. She also leaves behind many who will remember her with love and gratitude.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, Emory M. Presswood Jr.; her parents, Leslie Towell and Anna Bell “Williams” Riddle; and her stepdaughter, Ruth Marie Presswood. Though her passing leaves a deep void, her memory will remain a source of comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Kathryn Ann Presswood will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, and the kindness she extended so freely to others. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and steadfast care, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
There will be a visitation on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Sugarland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Burial will follow afterward at Sugarland Memorial Gardens.
