Around Knox County yesterday:
In Volleyball:
The North Knox Lady Warriors lost in three sets to Linton,. The Lady Miners took the match 25-17, 25-8, and 25-19. Baylie McCoy had four kills for the Lady Warriors, while Jersey Sturgeon added seven digs.
The South Knox Lady Spartans lost in three sets to Northeast Dubois last night. The Lady Jeeps took the match 25-13, 25-14, and 25-18. Maddie Short had 14 digs to lead the way, aong with seven points and two aces from Janet West.
In soccer:
The Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices get a lone goal from Sophia Cleghorn, but it was enough, as they defeat Evansville Centra; 1-0. The Lady Alices dominated possession, with goalkeeper Ruby Smith only making five saves on the night.
In tennis:
Vincennes Lincoln dropped a close one to Loogootee 3-2. Carter Johnson and Connor Hahn had the L-H-S wins in singles.
The South Knox Spartans defeated North Daviess 3-2 last night. Spartan wins came from Layne Hays and Maddox Sargent in singles, with a doubles win from Ethan Cook and Cooper Neal.
In Cross Country:
Vincennes Lincoln’s girls were third in the Edgewood Invitational. The host Mustangs won the meet with 29 points, while LHS had 87. Top individual Lady Alice was Sawyer Keusch in fifth place.
In Middle School sports:
The Clark Middle School 7th grade lost in two sets to North Daviess 25-14 and 25-17. Gabriela Moore had four kills, while Cassidy Wehrman, Mya Strothman, and Halle Turner added three each.
The C-M-S sixth grade A and B teams both win in two sets over Princeton. The 6-A won 25-14 and 25=20, while the 6-B team won 25-21 and 25-18.
