Harvest activities in just about all area fields are complete, with some late planted soybeans remaining to gather into the bins. Knox County Purdue Extension educator Valerie Clingerman says many farmers moved at record speeds to get their crops in this year. Clingerman knows many of those who planted—or re-planted—their beans late have suffered some losses.
The early harvest was helped by a early planting window in late March that allowed some farmers to get their crops in the ground earlier than normal.
