Vincennes Community Schools has set its proposed advertised budget for the 2025 calendar year. The advertised budget calls for over 23.6 million dollars for education, with another 8.7 million dollars for operations, and 4.6 million for debt service. The education fund is up around 600-thousan ddollars from this year’s final total. The operations fund is down by about a million dollars for 2024, with the debt service fund the same as 2024.
At this time, the advertised tax rate for Corporation landholders is nearly a dollar, 38 cents per hundred in assessed value. The advertised tax rate is set higher than expected to maximize revenue. Last year, the final rate was set just over 91 cents per hundred.
The proposal will have a public hearing in September, with final approval expected in October.
