A bill authored by State Senator Mark Messmer of Jasper requiring applicants for a used car dealer license to complete a training course to sell used cars in Indiana was signed into law Thursday by Governor Eric Holcomb.
Senate Enrolled Act 222 also requires the training course to provide information on automotive licensing requirements, laws and rules in Indiana.
Messmer says a reliable vehicle is needed to get to work, school and to run errands.
He says making sure auto dealers know state rules ensures Hoosiers are buying a reliable vehicle they can trust.
