After around a half hour of discussion an, the Knox County Commissioners decided to renew its insurance plan with Anthem Insurance, starting October first. The renewal vote was 2-1, with Commissioner T-J Brink voting against the renewal.
The session included a presentation by Good Samaritan Hospital insurance. The presentation included a tiered plan giving lower deductibles for service at either Good Samaritan or Deaconess Hospital-related medical facilities. Other networks would be included in a Tier Two level.
Commissioner Trent Hinkle and Commissioners’ president Kellie Streeter voted for the renewal. Hinkle gave another reason he voted for the renewal– the changes that would be required in a short time to the software program.
The renewal with Anthem includes both medical and prescription plans, as was provided in the past.
