Some drivers in Pike County are reporting problems with INDOT work on a couple of state roads.
People driving cars on State Roads 61 and 57 report vehicle damage from loose debris during ongoing chip-and-seal road work. The chip-sealing process, which aims to improve traction, is causing small rocks and debris to damage some vehicles, leading to repair costs of up to $400 for windshield replacements.
Those drivers are telling INDOT that they’re frustrated, saying that insurance deductibles do not cover the full cost of repairs.
