The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office has been notified of a scam using one of the office’s phone numbers.
The scammer identifies himself as Deputy Scott and tells the victim they missed a court date.
The sheriff’s office reminds the public not to give out personal information or banking information over the phone.
The sheriff’s office does not call people about court dates or collect bond money over the telephone.
