Progress has come in the planned construction of Bierhaus Flats subdivision on Bierhaus Boulevard, just off Hart Street. The 240-unit multi-family housing complex was approved for 3.1 million dollars in bonding at last night’s Vincennes City Council session.
The funding will pass through Council to Bierhaus Flats developers. Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says even though the City approved the bonds, the City will have no stake in their repayment. Mayor Yochum expects the bulk– but not all– of that bond issue to be put on the actual project itself.
Developpers hope to break ground on Bierhaus Flats sometime later this year.
