This is Indiana Rail Safety Week across the state. It is a week to highlight the need for safety by vehicles and pedestrians on railroads, and at railroad crossings.
Among this week’s points is not texting and driving, not trespassing on railroad tracks on foot, and not crossing a track with lights and gates activated for a coming train.
The program itself is sponsored each year by the group “Operation Lifesaver.”
