Some work on Washington Avenue has been delayed, due to the remnants from Hurricane Beryl barreling through the area this week. The hurricane’s rains affected the area, especially on Tuesday.
Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum says the project has to dry out from the remnant’s rains before the cement stabilizer can be applied. However, Mayor Yochum says another part of the project–utility work– is on time for that asphalt-related work to begin.
The goal is to have at least some asphalt in place before high school football season starts in mid to late August.
