Officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency– or FEMA– have approved hazard mitigation plans for Knox County and its municipal areas. The plans are required as part of a long-term strategy to reduce problems from potential hazards.
The Knox County Emergency Management Agency worked with municipal and state partners on the plan. The hazard mitigation document is up for FEMA approval every five years. Knox County E-M-A officials call the plan a cornerstone in efforts to build a resilient community.
