Janice R. Kellersohn, a compassionate, kind, and wise soul, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2024, in Evansville, IN. Born on December 9, 1954, in Vincennes, IN, she was a beacon of light to all who knew her. Janice’s zest for life was evident in her love for traveling, especially her cherished trips to Germany, and in the intricate handmade cards she crafted with love.
She was employed by Tenneco Automotive (MAECO), in Monroe, Michigan for 25 years where she served as a Customer Service Team Leader, as well as other leadership capacities including being a member of the MAECO women’s club.
During her time in Michigan, she was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Maybee, Michigan for 29 years where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and helped coordinate the joint Summer School with St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, also in Maybee, Michigan.
Upon returning to Indiana in 2002, Janice worked for Good Samaritan Hospital as a Family Liaison in the Emergency Department, keeping families informed and comforted while their loved ones were undergoing emergency care. She retired from Good Samaritan after 16 years and took care of her mother, Anita, who passed in 2022 at the age of 91. She continued to enrich the lives of others by working part-time for the Knox County Public Library as an Adult Programming Manager, and briefly served the Knox County Homelessness Task Force by presenting a model for a future homeless shelter system in the Vincennes area.
Janice’s legacy is carried on by her brother, Keith Bernard Kellersohn Jr. of Salisbury, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith Bernard Kellersohn Sr. and Anita Carroll Kellersohn, and her sister, Julia Ann Kellersohn Bedell.
Janice’s unwavering spirit, generosity, and compassion, for the most vulnerable touched many hearts and she will be profoundly missed. Her wisdom and kindness remain as guideposts for all who were fortunate enough to know her.
