The Indiana boys baseball tournament got underway last night with play at some sectionals around the state. Just one game at the Vincennes sectional at Hill Field last night as Washington edged Gibson Southern 3-2. That sets up the action for Memorial Day. At 11am on Monday, Vincennes Lincoln will play Pike Central followed by Washington against Princeton. Winners will play for the sectional championship Monday night at 7.
At the Mitchell class 2A sectional, Southridge crushed Mitchell 11-0 to move on to semi final play on Monday.
The raiders move on to the first game at 10am on Monday to play North Knox. The Warriors downed Eastern Greene 8-2. The second semi final matches Linton against the South Knox Spartans. Winners play for a championship Monday night.
At the North Daviess class A sectional, their was just one game as Loogootee edged shoals 3-2. On Memorial Day at 10:30 Vincennes Rivet plays Barr-Reeve followed by Loogootee against North Daviess. Winners play at 7:30 Monday night for the sectional title.
