Mary Jewel Mize, 81, passed away at 6:14 pm on December 6, 2019 at Gentle Care Nursing Home. Jewel was born on September 8, 1938 the daughter of Edgar and Mae (Carpenter) Rowe. She married Robert W. Mize on January 20, 1956 and he preceded her in death on November 9, 2015.
Jewel was a graduate of Switz City High School and owned and operated Country Candle Factory with her husband Bob. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed meeting with her small groups.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Montgomery and her husband Ross of Vincennes; grandchildren, Bailey Montgomery, Jade Montgomery, Brittany Montgomery; great grandchildren, Kyndall Myers, Piper Lewis, Madison Montgomery and brother-in-law, Don Mize and his wife Ann of Monroe City. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Mitchel Montgomery, her husband Robert W. Mize and her brother, Fred Rowe.
Friends may visit with Jewel’s family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes.
